Wildlife Field Day this April 5th. This Youth event was hosted
by The Izaak Walton League Rockville Chapter, Waring

with over 65 kids and parents attending.
Cheri Winter and EW Grimes from MSC QDMA attended &
Maryland State Chapter's station educated kids and parents
about the white-tail deer. Cheri instructed the youths how to

NEWS & EVENTS
Maryland State QDMA Banquet
March 8, 2008

We held our Annual Fund Raising
Banquet on March 8, 2008 and had a
good turnout. There were lots of
great prizes and good food. Enjoy the
slideshow of the banquet.
Make your plans to attend next years
banquet.
Don't miss out!

2nd Annual Food Plot Day
APRIL 20, 2008

The Second Annual Outdoor
Essentials/QDMA Maryland State
Chapter Food Plot Event was held on
April 20, 2008 and as always, was most
informative about food plot installation
and working of the ground for food
plots as presented by Mali Vujanic of
Outdoor Essentials, Joe Brown from
Patriot Land and Wildlife Management
Services with an awesome plotmaster
presentation and more.
However, there was more to this event
than just food plots and what put this
event over the top for property
management along with food plot
demonstrations was the forestry
management seminars. Matt Sampson
from Forestland Group, LLC showed
how to plant new trees and how to
protect them. His walk through on the
existing deer woods was the most
informative that I have ever seen in the
state! Matt's presentation of mature
timber and new timber growth brought
property management which is most
overlooked aspect up to a new level.
This event, the first of its kind in
Maryland was a huge success and
plans for the next one are already in
the works. Check back on
www.marylandqdma.com for future
events like this and more!
